Important: You Will Need the Retaining Ring from Your Old Ear Pads
These replacement ear pads do not include a retaining ring. The plastic retaining ring from your original ClearDryve ear pads is required for installation — it’s what locks the new pad onto the ear cup. Before discarding your old ear pads, remove and save the retaining ring. It’s reusable and will work perfectly with the new pads.
Step-by-Step: How to Replace ClearDryve 220 Ear Pads
Step 1 — Remove the Old Ear Pad
Start with one ear cup. Grip the old ear pad firmly and peel it away from the ear cup frame. It’s held on by a friction fit, so you’ll feel it release as you work around the edge. Pull firmly but steadily — it comes off clean. No tools, no screws.
Step 2 — Inspect the Retaining Ring
Once the pad is off, you’ll see a plastic retaining ring still seated in the ear cup. Do not discard this ring — it’s reusable and is what locks your new ear pad in place. Check that it’s clean and undamaged.
Step 3 — Seat the New Ear Pad
Take your new CentralSound replacement ear pad and stretch the inner lip over the retaining ring. Work your way around the ear cup, pressing the pad lip firmly over the ring as you go. Make sure it’s seated evenly all the way around — no bunching, no gaps.
Step 4 — Press and Lock It In
Once the pad is seated, go around the edge one more time and press firmly to snap everything into place. The pad should sit flush against the ear cup with no lifting edges. Give it a gentle tug to confirm it’s secure.
Step 5 — Repeat on the Second Ear Cup
Follow the same steps on the other ear cup. Both pads should look and feel identical when done. Your ClearDryve 220 should now look and feel brand new.

Get Your ClearDryve 220 Ear PadsWhy Replace the Pads Instead of the Whole Headset?
The ClearDryve 220 is a purpose-built headset for CDL drivers and truckers — it’s not something you’ll find at a retail store, and a replacement unit isn’t cheap. The ear pads are almost always the first thing to fail, and they’re a purely cosmetic and comfort component. A fresh set of ear pads from CentralSound restores the feel and function of your headset for a fraction of the cost of a new unit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any tools to replace the ear pads?
No tools needed. The ear pads are held in place by a friction-fit retaining ring that you can work on with just your hands.
Do these fit both the ClearDryve 220 and ClearDryve 200?
Yes. Our ear pads are compatible with both the CD220 and CD200 models. The ear cup dimensions and attachment system are identical across both.
How long does the replacement take?
Most people finish both ear cups in under 5 minutes on their first attempt.
Will the retaining ring come with my order?
The retaining ring in your existing headset is reusable, so you won’t need a new one. Just clean it and reuse it with the new pads.
