Was just sitting playing a game and felt like my headphones were sitting weird on my head. Took them off and the plastic at the hinge was cracked. Never dropped them, never sat on them. They just cracked on their own and really badly. Thought that I was screwed completely.
Ordered the kit, it showed up in couple days, and it fits perfect. Feels way stronger than the original plastic.
If you already have this crack — get it. And if you have XM5s that are still fine, honestly just get it anyway and reinforce them before it happens, because from everything I've read it happens to pretty much a lot of people eventually.
