- Pry tool, butter knife or small flathead screwdriver
Step-by-Step: How to Replace the Beats Solo 3 / Solo 2 Ear Pads
Step 1: Pry off the old ear pad
Slide a pry tool, butter knife or small flathead just under where the ear pad meets the ear cup. Gently pry up and work all the way around. Some pads are stubborn, so keep at it.
Step 2: Clean off the old adhesive
Scrape away as much of the old glue as you can.
Tip: Don’t scrape off the small plastic posts on the ear cup. You need them to line up the new pads.
Step 3: Pick the right side
One pad has a small indent that lines up with the charging port. Make sure each pad goes on the correct side.
Step 4: Peel the backing
Peel the backing off the adhesive on the new pad.
Step 5: Line up and press
Line up the holes on the back of the pad with the plastic posts, then press down firmly all the way around. Repeat on the other side.
Bring the comfort back to your Solos.
