We custom designed a simple solution for a serious problem, the broken headband hinge swivel area on the Sony WH-1000XM5 Noise Canceling Headphones. There's a commonly known weak area in this particular model which can cause the headphones to be unwearable if not repaired as quickly as possible.
Usually starting with a hairline crack, it spreads until the plastic is completely separated and you're left with an ear cup dangling by a wire (don't worry if this is the case, our repair kit will still work for you).

Sorry for the delay in writing this review. The CS Parts Repair Kit for the Sony WH-1000XM5 worked incredibly well. It's amazing how a pair of $500 headphones can break so easily, but thanks to your repair kit, I was able to complete the repair in about 30 minutes.
Unfortunately, the damage to the right hinge on my headphones was more extensive than what the CS part was designed to address, so that specific issue is still not fully fixed. Even so, the repair kit performed exactly as intended and significantly improved the condition of my headphones.

Just buy this if you have these Sony headphones. It's not a matter of if, but when you'll need it. It's a terrible design by Sony, but this repair kit makes them either usable again or will protect you against having to buy it later when you will need it. Product quality is fantastic too. Fairly straightforward assembly process as well. I can't recommend this enough.

This repair kit is a must have for the Sony WH-1000XM5. I suggest not to wait the headphones break at the weak points which is at the hinges. The repair kit was definitely easy to install. It took a bit of fidgeting around to get it to fit in place properly but once you get it on there, it's great. I will make one major suggestion prior to or after installation, make sure to turn the headphones a few times to get rid of the that "rough" feeling when trying to adjust them.
If you do buy your Sony WH1000XM5 pick these up and install them right away. Also get a proper case for the headphones as well.

A bit challenging to assemble, especially since one of my speakers had already completely come out of the headband. But the tool and screws worked well. The parts fit snuggly and have been holding. Thanks for inventing this.

My headphones were snapped through on one side so I thought I'd try and fix them with these parts. You get exactly what's shown plus a tool to install the parts. After attaching them, the break was still a problem and the headphones still dangle on by a wire. I tried to contact customer support and didn't hear back until leaving a review, but then I was refunded, so it's all good. It's a shame I couldn't fix my headphones with these but it depends on the break. Another thing to warn for is that one of the screws fell into the headset and now rattles around inside of it. That was my fault. They do supply you with a spare screw. The headphones can still rotate afterwards but you have to really twist them by hand, they don't slide as smoothly as they did before, but they can still twist!
Thought XM5 was toast after a broken hinge so this is fantastic.
Assembly is easy, but the sliding action is a bit tight/rough to begin with, put it together without the headset and rotate the hinge a bit and it will loosen up.
Comes with a spare screw for us clumsy people that need one, thanks.

My Sony headphones had the hinge completely severed. Bought the reparerad kit and it worked great. Enyoing the headphones again.
My pair of the Sony WH-1000XM5 unfortunately ended up having the well known hinge issue, the left side dangling rendering the headphones unusable. After doing research, I stumbled upon Central Sound's repair kit, which appeared to be the least invasive and by far the cheapest solution.
Happy to report the install was quick, easy and my headphones are fully usable again. My only complaint is that the cups of the ear no longer swivel to the shape of my head as effortlessly as they used to, but considering the price tag to replace these headphones, I'd consider that a minor problem in order to keep rockin' out.
The Hinge broke on my Well Traveled Sony Headphones. They traveled with me all over the world. I was about to sadly throw them away when I saw CS Parts online. I was dubious... but what the heck... WOW did it work! A+++ I now have my Fav Travel Headphones back and stronger than before! Thanks CS!! I will buy another set for my daughters headphones and put them on- even though they did not break yet. AMAZING!
