- Spudger or plastic pry tool
- Small Phillips screwdriver
- Small pointed plastic tool or tweezers
- Flexible adhesive such as E8000, or super glue
- Pliers (optional)
Step-by-Step: How to Replace the Corsair HS70 Pro Battery
Step 1: Remove the ear cushion
Slide a spudger between the ear cushion and the ear cup and pry upward. Small plastic clips hold it on, so it unsnaps.
Step 2: Remove the speaker housing
Remove all the screws around the speaker housing with a small Phillips screwdriver, then lift the housing off.
Tip: Small wires are inside. Keep the housing close to the ear cup so you don’t pull them, and keep the yoke mount attached to the ear cup.
Step 3: Unplug the old battery
Untape the battery wire, then unplug the connector from the control board.
Step 4: Remove the old battery
Cut any small pieces of adhesive on the sides. Slide a spudger under the battery and pry up, then lift it out.
Tip: Don’t bend the battery too much or puncture it.
Step 5: Check the plug polarity
Compare the new plug with the original. In the video, the wire order was reversed, so the wires had to be moved. Lift the small plastic locking tabs with a pointed plastic tool, slide each wire out, and reinsert them to match the original: black on the far right, white in the middle and red on the far left. Press the tabs back down and give each wire a gentle tug.
Tip: Don’t let the red and black wires touch while they’re out of the plug.
Step 6: Plug in and test
Plug the connector into the control board with the plastic tabs facing up. Plug in the charging cable to confirm the LED comes on, then unplug it.
Step 7: Make room and secure the battery
The new battery is slightly larger, so break off the two small plastic tabs that held the old one, using your fingers or pliers. Add adhesive, set the battery in place and let it cure.
Step 8: Reassemble
Tuck the extra wire into the open space. Line up the speaker housing with the yoke mount first, then the ear cup, without pinching any wires. Make sure there are no gaps, then reinstall the screws.
Step 9: Reinstall the ear cushion and charge
Line up the seam at the bottom and snap the ear cushion on. Charge it fully overnight before using it. You may need to reset the headset.
